Meditation

Meditation is about slowing down. About taking the time to feel your feelings and think through your emotions and actions. It is about being mindful of the universe and your place within it.

Meditative Technique

Everyone who practices meditation has a unique style that fits them. Only though practice and experimentation can you find the exact combination of techniques and patters that work best for you.

Here is a meditation technique that I am currently trying to practice:

Affirmations

Affirmations are helpful quotes or sayings that can help ground oneself in times of mental turmoil.

dum loquimur, fugerit invida ætas; carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero

while we are talking, time flies without favor; seize the day, not trusting the slightest in what is to come

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Don’t be distracted by criticism. Remember - the only taste of success some people get is to take a bite out of you.
